The Arts and Crafts jewelry period spans four decades beginning in 1880 and running through 1920, beginning in direct opposition to the time period's exploding decadence and the industrialization sweeping across the United States and Great Britain as the turn of the century approached. 

In the late 1800s, designers, thinkers, writers, and artists joined forces in an effort to return to the days of craftsmanship. Handmade designs inspired by nature, and simple, straightforward construction techniques are thus hallmarks of Arts and Crafts jewelry. This protest resulted in Arts and Crafts jewelry pieces that are truly one-of-a-kind works of art.
